BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 25. A total of 12,955 residential units with a combined area of 1.83 million square meters were constructed and commissioned across Azerbaijan from January through June 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee indicates that this represents a rise of 7,751 units, or 2.5 times more than the same period last year (5,204 residential units, 702,910 square meters).
Among the newly built homes, 10,814 units were constructed by private individuals, 69 by state institutions, and 2,072 by non-state organizations.
Azerbaijan has two primary "new general plans": the General Plan for the territories liberated from occupation, approved in 2022, and the Master Plan for Baku 2040, which aims to transform the capital into a sustainable, multi-centered city by redeveloping infrastructure, expanding green spaces, and fostering a post-industrial economy. The Baku Master Plan 2024 focuses on creating multiple urban centers, enhancing transportation networks, and improving environmental quality through initiatives like "Hybrid Green Corridors".
