ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 3. Kazakhstan is undergoing a systemic transformation in crop production aimed at increasing efficiency and sustainable production, Trend reports.
This work is being carried out within the framework of implementing the President's Address “Fair Kazakhstan: law and order, economic growth, public optimism” and other directives from the President of Kazakhstan.
“The president of Kazakhstan mandated the annual implementation
of water conservation technologies across a spatial expanse of up
to 150,000 hectares.” By the conclusion of the 2024 fiscal year,
the strategic initiative was surpassed, culminating in an expansive
total of 158,000 hectares. This fiscal period, innovative hydric
conservation methodologies have been operationalized across a
spatial expanse of 109,800 hectares. “In aggregate, the expanse of
irrigated terrain employing advanced water conservation
methodologies has escalated to 580,000 hectares,” articulated
Aidarbek Saparov, Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
The primary objective for the industry is the strategic
diversification of cultivated zones and the implementation of
innovative water conservation technologies. This year, the expanse
of wheat cultivation has contracted by 884,600 hectares, bringing
the total to 12.3 million hectares, whereas the acreage dedicated
to oilseed crops has expanded by 1 million hectares, reaching 4
million hectares. Concurrently, the framework for sugar beet
planting is undergoing optimization processes.
