Roughly 163.6 million manat were allocated from the Azerbaijani state budget for the construction, repair and reconstruction of 30 tourist sites in 2010 upon the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, a governmental report as of 2010 said.
"In particular, roughly 87.1 million manat were allocated to create the summer and winter tourist complex Shahdag, " the report said.
According to the information, 2 million manat were allocated for overhaul of the socio-cultural and domestic facilities in 2010.
The construction project of "Shahdag" complex, to be located in Gusar region of Azerbaijan on the area of 2,000 hectares, will be implemented in 4 stages. The communication lines will be laid, 11 ski lifts, 312-room five-star, 346 room - four-star, 282-room - three-star hotels and cottage complex will be built at the first stage. A network of lifts and sports equipment will be created at the second stage. Additional ski trails and residential area will be opened at the third stage. The complex will also include tennis courts, soccer fields, basketball courts, aqua park.
