Turkmenistan plans to build a new shipyard with developed infrastructure, using modern technologies, the Turkmen Maritime and River Transport Department said.
The company will also carry out vessel repairs and maintenance.
A new shipyard must be built due to increased sea transportation and because the Turkmenbashi sea port is becoming a major transshipment zone in the region.
In recent years, Turkmenistan has actively formed its own tanker fleet. Its ships are purchased from Russia and the Baltic States.
Preparations are underway to rebuild the Turkmenbashi sea port, which has an international status.
