House prices rose by 0.2 per cent in Turkey in January 2012 compared to the previous month and by 11.47 per cent compared to the same month in 2011, the Central Bank of Turkey said in its report on Tuesday.
Price per square metre in January 2012 hit 1046 lira compared to 938.4 lira in January 2011.
The housing cost index in January rose by 1.07 per cent, compared to the previous month amounting to 115.96 points. Compared to the same month of 2011, the housing cost index rose by 12.24 per cent.
A growth of housing cost index during the reporting period in the city of Izmir hit 1.66 per cent, Istanbul - 0.72 per cent and Ankara - 0.6 per cent. A square metre of housing in Izmir during the reporting period hit 1,170 lira, Istanbul - 1,603 Lira and Ankara - 980.9 lira.
The official exchange rate is 1.7887 TRY / USD on April 10.
