Next year, a poultry farm of 1,500 tons of poultry meat production per year will be put into operation in the Karmakshy district of Kazakhstan’s Kyzylorda region, governor of the region Krymbek Kusherbayev said, according to Kazinform.
He noted that livestock breeding is being purposefully developed in the agro-industrial complex through agricultural cooperation.
"Of the 106 cooperatives that we have created over the past two years by combining 2,688 private farms, 89 are of livestock direction. The poultry industry is also being revived - in 2019, Karmakshy district will have a poultry farm of 1,500 tons of poultry meat production per year," Kusherbayev said.
The governor also noted that rice growing remains the leading branch of the agro-industrial complex of the region.
"Despite the fact that the year was difficult due to lack of water and cold spring, this year we have good harvest of rice - 473,000 tons," Kusherbayev said.
The head of the region added that Kyzylorda rice is exported to the markets of Mongolia, Turkey and Afghanistan.
"In addition to the traditional ones, we have started production of Iranian varieties of rice for further export to Iran. This country annually consumes up to 5 million tons of rice, half of which is imported, and we expect to grab a certain niche in this market," Kusherbayev noted.
