BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 25
By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:
Iranian exporters returned more than 70 percent of the currency obtained as a result of export, Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization and Chairman of the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization Hamid Zadbum said.
Zadbum made the remark in Qum province at the event dedicated to Iran's National Exports Day, Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.
“Iran exported the products worth $27 billion from March 21 through November 21, 2019,” the deputy minister added.
Zadbum added that the export of products is a valuable step for Iran's currency provision.
Amid the current conditions including Iran's economic situation and sanctions imposed by the US, the export of products is not simple and the problems faced by the Iranian exporters cannot be compared to those of the exporters from other countries, the deputy minister said.
“Some Iranian plants need currency to import raw materials and equipment,” Zadbum said. “This currency should be ensured as a result of the export.”
Zadbum said that the sanctions imposed against Iran are aimed at taking the currency out of the country without returning.
Referring to the export of goods to 15 countries around Iran, the deputy minister said that these countries import the goods worth $1.2 billion per year, so the goods in demand must be produced for the target countries’ markets.
