TEHRAN, Iran, Aug.23

Trend:

Iran Khodro 's deputy of marketing and sales has announced the auto maker's current incomplete vehicles have reached 70,000 due to problems in auto part supply and imported parts.

Babak Rahmani has noted that Iran Khodro is trying to reduce the number of its incomplete vehicles that remained unfinished due to lack of electronic chip supply that was caused by coronavirus outbreak and closure of auto industries, Trend reports citing ISNA.

He has reassured that Iran Khodro is committed to delivering 10,000 vehicles and so far it has delivered 900 Tara vehicles to customers from this sum while the company would announce new plans for the sale of the same model.

"In past two years Iran Khodro did not have new commitment due to sanctions and terminated cooperation with a foreign partner," he said.

The official indicated that the possible return of Peugeot to Iran and the resumption of cooperation is very unlikely.

Iran Khodro has launched presale programs in twenty stages in the past Iranian year (started March 20, 2020) to provide part of liquidity. The company has regularly run different plans for sale including one-year presales, special sales, and production participation plans.

Since the start of the auto presale plan based on the random draw in June 2020 until now, Iran Khodro has offered 260,000 vehicles on special sales that 206,000 vehicles were sold and from this figure, 180,000 vehicles were delivered.
