BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Tajikistan increased by 190 percent in value and 151 percent in volume, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Morteza Emadi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
According to Emadi, the trade turnover between the two countries for the reporting period amounted to approximately 147,000 tons worth over $140 million.
The customs official said that Iran exported more than 130,000 tons of non-oil products worth $93.1 million to Tajikistan in 8 months. The exported products were mainly petrochemical products, dried fruits, fish feed, and agricultural products.
“Moreover, Iran imported 16,400 tons of goods worth about $47.4 million from Tajikistan within eight months,” he added.
Emadi also noted that Iran mainly imported unprocessed cotton, silkworms, thread, etc. from Tajikistan for 8 months.
