BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 9. In the first half of 2024, individuals from Azerbaijan sent a tidy sum of $6.2 million in remittances to China.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan indicates that this indicator increased by 97.4 percent, or $3.1 million, compared to the same period last year.
The share of remittances to China in the total volume of remittances is 2.4 percent.
Meanwhile, the volume of remittances by individuals from Azerbaijan to China amounted to $8.1 million at the end of 2023.
To note, the volume of remittances by individuals from foreign countries to Azerbaijan amounted to $1.6 billion at the end of 2023.
