Ansaldo Energia highlights benefits of power plant under construction in Azerbaijan's Mingachevir

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 7. The commissioning of the Mingachevir combined cycle power plant in Azerbaijan, scheduled for late 2024 or early 2025, is expected to reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by 2 million tons, according to a statement from Ansaldo Energia, Trend reports.

The Italian company, working under contract with Azerenerji, has manufactured four turbines for the plant, which will have a total capacity of 1,280 megawatts.

'The four gas turbines built by Ansaldo will make the Mingachevir power plant one of the most efficient in the country, reducing CO2 emissions by more than 2 million tons annually,' the statement said.

Meanwhile, on September 6, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Ansaldo Energia’s CEO, Fabrizio Fabbri, in Cernobbio, Italy.
