BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 14. The Baku International Sea Trade Port handled 5.43 million tons of cargo, which is 14.7 percent more than in the same period of the previous year, Trend reports citing the Baku Port.
During the accounting period, the cargo transshipment of TEU containers from January through November 2022 totaled 48,345, which is 20.3 percent more than in the same period of the previous year.
"The increase in the transshipment of wheeled vehicles (TIR) amounted to 32.2 percent - to over 46,700 trucks, and the transshipment of passenger cars tripled. In addition, in 2022, for the first time in the last three years, there was an increase in the transshipment of wagons. This growth amounted to 31.7 percent – up to 36,187," said the Baku Port.
More than 90 percent of the cargo passing through the territory of Azerbaijan is transit.
