ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 28. The value of production of construction materials in Kazakhstan amounted to 1.03 trillion tenge (about $2.27 billion) at the beginning of 2023, Trend reports.

According to the official data, this figure exceeds the same period in 2022 by 10.2 percent.

At the same time, the share of domestic producers in the total volume of purchases of construction materials increased from 62 to 66 percent, which indicates the strengthening of their positions in the domestic market.

In addition, increasing Kazakhstan’s own production of building materials is an important component of the industry’s development. Thus, the Road Map until 2027 was approved, including 270 projects in the construction industry with a total value of about 1.8 trillion tenge (about $3.97 billion).

Moreover, 41 projects worth 73 billion tenge were launched in 2023. Among them are plants for the production of 1st grade lime in the Karaganda region and the production of asphalt concrete in Astana.

In addition, the cement plant in the Abay region was restored and modernized. The production of ceramic slabs has been expanded in the Zhetisu region. The production of roofing and facing materials has been established in Astana.

In the near future, three more projects are expected to be commissioned in Shymkent worth 2 billion tenge (about $4.4 million).
