ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 1. Hungarian Globalia Ltd is implementing a project to create an agricultural industrial park in the Akmola region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, the main goal of the project is to create agricultural activities using and demonstrating modern agricultural technologies developed in Hungary.
About 7-8 different activities related to or closely related to agribusiness will be located on an area of 27 hectares. Here, advanced agricultural methods and sustainable, environmentally friendly technologies will be demonstrated, monitoring will be carried out, and traceability of goods will be ensured at any stage, from the manufacturer of the product to its final consumption.
It is expected that all installed installations will become self-sufficient and profitable and will not require special financing.
In the first 2–3 years, it is planned to begin and partially implement projects for the development of a model fish farm, growing fish, increasing the role of land and soil in adaptation to climate change, building a feed mill, opening a demonstration and experimental station for growing varieties of various plants, etc.
In addition to this, in the agricultural industrial park, Kazakh producers and supply chain participants will be able to get acquainted with new technologies and tools, the work of practical models, and the Carbon Farming system, which helps to capture and accumulate CO2 from the soil. There are plans to create seed production using Hungarian technology.
Meanwhile, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Hungary at the end of 2023 amounted to $187.6 million, which is 8.9 percent more than in 2022.
The gross inflow of direct investment from Hungary to Kazakhstan has amounted to $320 million since 2005. At the same time, 29 legal entities, branches, and representative offices with Hungarian participation and 41 joint ventures operate in Kazakhstan.
