BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, November 19. Kyrgyzstan’s industrial production reached over 453 billion soms ($5.2 billion) in the first ten months of 2024, which is a 5.3 percent year-on-year increase, Trend reports.
According to the nation's State Statistical Committee, the growth in industrial output was largely driven by a significant rise in the production of refined petroleum products, which increased by 80 percent, as well as a 32 percent surge in the production of wood, paper products, and printing activities.
Other sectors also posted notable gains, with food and beverage manufacturing, along with tobacco products, growing by 22 percent. The pharmaceutical industry saw a 16.6 percent increase, while textile and clothing production rose by 14 percent. Rubber, plastic products, and building materials' production grew by 9.3 percent.
Yet, the forge of basic metals dimmed as its output tumbled by 4.4 percent.
The production, transmission, and distribution of electricity also saw a 17.1 percent increase, while water collection, treatment, and distribution grew by 6.4 percent.
