BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 9. The total number of Visa payment cards in circulation in Kyrgyzstan reached 4.796 million as of September 30, 2024, Trend reports.
According to the Kyrgyz National Bank, this figure grew by 62.2 percent compared to the same period in 2023 (2.956 million cards).
During the reporting period, Visa accounted for 56.1 percent of all cards in circulation in Kyrgyzstan, while the figure for the same period in 2023 was 46.61 percent.
The largest share of Visa cards was registered in the capital, Bishkek, with over 3.504 million cards, while the least number was in the Naryn region, with 62,116 cards.
Meanwhile, the total number of banking payment cards in circulation in Kyrgyzstan reached 8.553 million as of September 30, 2024. The number of cards increased by 34.8 percent compared to the same period last year, and since the beginning of the year, the growth has been 24.1 percent.
