TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 18. Uzbekistan plans to create an industrial technopark in the city of Almalyk, Trend reports.

According to Uzbekistan’s Agency for Strategic Reforms, the industrial technopark is envisaged to be built on a territory of 227.4 hectares.

When this initiative is implemented, it will be possible to attract more than $1 billion in investments by placing more than 35 industrial projects in the technopark, including the production of construction materials, household appliances, and other industrial products.

As a result of launching these projects, more than 8,000 new jobs will be created. In addition, it is expected to manufacture products worth $350 million for additional exports, which will also allow it to attract about 60 billion soums ($4.7 million) of additional revenues to the budget.

Meanwhile, China Triumph International Engineering and China Xiaou Group are planning to create a technopark in Uzbekistan’s Fergana region, specializing in the automotive industry.

At the first stage, it is planned to set up assembly, painting, and adjustment using parts imported from China. After the launch, the plant will be able to produce up to 60,000 cars and special vehicles with gas, electric, and hybrid engines annually.
