Uzbekistan reveals volume of exported onions

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 27. Uzbekistan exported 267,400 tons of onion for a total of $53.3 million from January through June 2024, Trend reports.

The data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that the recorded volume has increased by 12.4 percent compared to the same period last year (237,700 tons in January–June 2023).

At the same time, the volume of onion exports from Uzbekistan decreased to 54,700 tons in June 2024, compared to 91,400 tons in May 2024.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported 1 million tons of fruit and vegetables worth $607.3 million from January through June 2024. This figure has increased by 4.6 percent compared to the same period last year (955,200 tons in January–June 2023).

Russia accounted for the largest volume of horticultural product exports from Uzbekistan, with a total volume of 348,400 tons worth $250.1 million. Kazakhstan ranked second with 335,800 tons of exports worth $101.7 million, followed by Pakistan with 89,000 tons of horticultural products exported worth $92.7 million from January through June 2024.
