BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 6. The production of crude oil in the territory of the Central Oil Fields Company has increased by 13,000 barrels per day since the current government of Iran came into power (the current government of Iran has been in power since August 2024), the executive director of Iran's Oil Zones Company Peymani Imani told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, 10,000 barrels per day were added to daily production due to the commissioning of four wells in the Khest oil field in the territory of the Central Oil Fields Company, and 3,000 barrels per day increased to daily production due to the commissioning of three wells in the Dehloran oil field.
Imani added that Central Oil Fields Company has 107 reservoirs in 87 oil fields. Meanwhile, the contract for the development of the Saman, Sumar, and Delavaran oil fields will be signed with a local company soon. With the commissioning of these small fields, the country's crude oil production will increase by 9,000 barrels per day.
To note, as many as 84 oil and gas fields are under the authority of Central Oil Fields Company in 11 provinces of Iran. At the moment, 13 gas and 13 oil fields have been developed. The maximum production potential of Central Oil Fields Company is about 250,000 barrels of crude oil and 250 million cubic meters of gas per day.
