Police in Dubai announced Wednesday that they have identified 15 new suspects in the January murder of leading Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in the city-state, DPA reported.
Three of the additional suspects used Australian passports, al- Arabiya television said, adding that the rest arrived from six different European countries and Hong Kong.
Police said that 14 of the suspects used credit cards issued by the same bank.
The announcement came soon after Dubai police said they would release "new and exciting details" on their investigation into the murder of al-Mabhouh, who was found dead in his hotel room in Dubai on January 20.
The chief of Dubai's police has said he is "99-per-cent, if not 100-per-cent" certain that Israel's intelligence agency, the Mossad, was responsible for the assassination.
Israeli officials have said there is no reason to assume the Mossad murdered al-Mabhouh, noting that he had Arab enemies as well.
