Turkey's trade with Azerbaijan in 2020 grew by nearly $187.3 million compared to 2019, exceeding $2.2 billion, Trend reports on Feb.9 referring to the Turkish Ministry of Trade.
In the reporting year, Turkey's exports to Azerbaijan made up more than $1.8 billion, and imports from Azerbaijan – $366 million, the ministry said.
At the same time, the trade turnover between the two countries from January through December 2020 was by over $32.1 million less than in the same period of the previous year, amounting to $203 million.
"The exports from Turkey to Azerbaijan in December 2020 equaled $143.6 million, and imports from Azerbaijan - $59.4 million," noted the ministry.
Turkey's foreign trade turnover made up over $388.8 billion in 2020.
In the reporting year, the country’s export decreased by 6.3 percent compared to 2019 and amounted to over $169.4 billion.
At the same time, import of Turkey rose by 4.3 percent and made up almost $219.4 billion.
According to the ministry, Turkey’s foreign trade turnover in December 2020 amounted to $40.2 billion.
Meanwhile, export of Turkey increased by 16 percent compared to December of the previous year, exceeding $17.8 billion. In this month, import to Turkey grew by 11.6 percent and reached $22.38 billion.
In 2019, foreign trade turnover of the country made up made up over $374.2 billion.
