The Georgian General Prosecutor's Office filed a criminal case under article "hooliganism" in connection with the shooting that involved in Tbilisi mayoral candidate from the Opposition National Council Zviad Dzidziguri.
Tbilisi Prosecutor Levan Makharashvili said, the investigation can not provide additional comments on the incident now.
Zviad Dzidziguri put up insulting posters of the ruling United National Movement with youth and then fired four shots May 6.
Several journalists tried to clarify the situation, but Dzidziguri called them the "henchmen of nationals and President Mikhael Saakashvili" and demanded that they leave his house.
Two people who were in Dzidziguri's house also insulted the journalists. According to witnesses, Dzidziguri was drunk.
Dzidziguri was a companion of first Georgian President Zviad Gamsakhurdia and later served a prison sentence.
