The Azerbaijani court has passed a sentence on the gang members accused of crimes related to kidnapping and murder.
Defendants - Elsavar Mammadov, Sabuhi Damirov and Ismail Guliyev were charged under the Article 144 (kidnapping) and 120.1 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code. The gang members kidnapped and killed 10-year-old resident of the Karrar village of the Kurdamir region, Bahruz Bagirzade, for corrupt purposes on Feb. 12, 2006.
Under the court's verdict, residents of Kurdamir region, Elsavar Mammadov, Sabuhi Damirov and Ismayil Guliyev, were sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. The court also passed a special judgment to investigate the case of inspector of Shirvan prosecutor's office Vahid Akbarov.
The Prosecutor's and Police Department of the Kurdamir region, the prosecutor office of the regions of Shirvan and Agsu and Police Department of Nizami district of Baku held the preliminary investigation.
Public prosecutor, Azer Osmanov, asked the court sentence each of the accused to 15 years in imprisonment.
