ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 15.Kazakhstan plans a number of large-scale investment projects worth a total of $4 billion, aimed at producing 7 million tons of mineral fertilizers, serving both the domestic market and exports, Trend reports.

In his speech at the first Forum of Agricultural Workers, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev touched on important aspects of agriculture. Addressing the topic of digitalization and automation in the agro-industrial complex, he noted that over the past five years, the number of digital farms in the country has grown nearly sixfold, now exceeding 200.

The President also mentioned that 8 major joint ventures with the German company Klaus and the Russian Rostselmash are successfully operating in Kazakhstan. This year, Klaus produced more than 4,500 tractors and 815 combine harvesters, totaling approximately $325 million in value.

"Scheduled grain shipments have begun to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan. Access to the Iranian market has been restored, with 250,000 tons of barley shipped. Grain exports to China, European Union countries, and North Africa will also be carried out," Tokayev emphasized.

He also highlighted that Kazakhstan’s grain export potential for this year is 12 million tons.

The Forum of Agricultural Workers is the first of its kind in Kazakhstan's history. More than 2000 agricultural workers from all regions of the country are participating.
