BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 21. Azerbaijan's fertilizer export metrics indicate a substantial throughput of 517,635 tons, translating to a fiscal valuation of $113.5 million during the period spanning January to November of the current fiscal year.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Customs Committee shows that this is $40.2 million (54.9 percent) more than the same period last year and 209,471 tons (68 percent) more in volume.
The proportion of fertilizer exports constituted a mere 0.47 percent of Azerbaijan's aggregate export portfolio over the span of 11 months.
At the same time, Azerbaijan imported 155,770 tons of fertilizers worth $69.2 million in the period from January through November this year, which is $19,000 (0.03 percent) more than a year earlier and 24,710 tons (18.8 percent) more by volume.
Moreover, imports of fertilizers accounted for 0.44 percent of Azerbaijan's total imports in 11 months.
