BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 4. Azerbaijan exported 2,300 tons of pomegranates worth $2 million in January 2025.

Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee shows that the export value grew by 35.3 percent ($526,000) and the volume by 33.3 percent (569 tons) compared to January 2024.

In January of this year, pomegranate exports accounted for 0.07 percent of the country's total exports and 0.82 percent of non-oil exports.

To note, Azerbaijan sent off a whopping 58,100 tons of fruits and vegetables, raking in a cool $60.5 million in January this year, which is $5.9 million (10.7 percent) more in value and 8,500 tons (17.1 percent) more in volume compared to the same month last year.

Exports of fruits and vegetables for January 2025 amounted to 1.99 percent of the country's total imports and 24.61 percent of non-exports.
