BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. Azerbaijan produced 196,500 tons of fertilizers and nitrogen compounds from January through April 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee shows that this indicator grew by 8,300 tons (4.4 percent) compared to the same period last year (188,200 tons).
As of May 1 of this year, the finished stock of the above products in the country amounted to 19,100 tons.
To note, during the reporting period, Azerbaijan manufactured the chemical, pharmaceutical, rubber and plastic products worth 730.2 million manat ($429.5 million). Compared to the same period last year, the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products increased by 54.4 percent, chemical products by 7.1 percent, rubber and plastic products by 2.3 percent.
Among the chemical industry products, the manufacturing of paints and varnishes increased by 22.7 percent, urea production by 4.4 percent, the production of plastics, rods, rods, and profiles from rubber and plastic products by 48.9 percent, the production of plastic bottles, flasks, and similar products by 37 percent, the production of pipes, tubes, elbows, and fittings from rigid plastic by 1.3 percent, while the production of polyethylene bags and sacks decreased by 34.4 percent.
