PremiumInvestments in Azerbaijani economy increase by over 15 percent in 2013

Around 17.87 billion manat was invested in the development of Azerbaijan's social and economic spheres in 2013, which is 15.1 percent more than in 2012, according to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

The volume of investments in construction and installation work hit 66.3 percent of the total volume of investments. Around 8.635.7 billion manat was invested in the construction of production facilities and about 9.236.4 billion manat was invested in non-production facilities, according to the State Committee.

Around 76.7 percent of the total volume of investments fell to domestic investments. They increased by 11.9 percent during a year. A significant part (70.7 percent) of domestic investments fall to state enterprises and organizations and 29.3 percent fall to private enterprises.

Around 8.012.1 billion manat (44.8 percent of the total volume of investments) were invested in fixed capital at the expense of funds of enterprises and organizations, 860.6 million manat (4.8 percent) - bank loans, 7.829.2 billion manat (43.8 percent) - budgetary funds, 558.7 million manat (3.2 percent) - off-budget funds' resources, 469.1 million manat (2.6 percent) - the population's income and 142.4 million manat (0.8 percent) - other resources.

About 73 percent (13.047.3 billion manat) of funds invested in fixed capital were transferred to the development of the non-oil sector. Around 4.824.8 billion manat (27 percent) were invested in the oil sector of the country. The investments in the country's non-oil sector increased by 12.1 percent and by 24.2 percent in the oil sector.

About 39.6 percent of investments fall to industry, 19.6 percent - transport and storage facilities, 3.2 percent - agriculture, 7.5 percent - real estate operations, 6.7 percent- public administration, 4.8 percent - recreation, entertainment and culture, 5.5 percent- construction, 1.1 percent - communication and information, 4.4 percent - education, 2 percent - rendering the administrative and additional services, 2.6 percent - trade, 0.4 percent - tourist accommodation and public catering, 0.1 percent - financial, insurance, professional, technical and scientific activity, according to the report.
