A carbamide plant is prepared to be commissioned in Garabogaz City of Balkan velayat (region) of Turkmenistan, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.
The project, the customer of which is the state concern "Turkmenkhimiya", is implemented by a consortium of companies Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan) and Gap Insaat (Turkey).
The Japanese company has installed technological and auxiliary equipment for the industrial processing of natural gas into ammonia and urea, and is now commissioning the technological chain.
The representatives of the Danish Haldor Topsoe AS Company and other Western suppliers of equipment and technology are involved in preparation for the commissioning.
The plant will produce 3,500 tons of urea per day and 1 million and 155,000 tons of carbamide per year.
The gas turbine generator, desalination plant and boiler have been prepared for operation, the steam supply line is purged, high-pressure pipelines and other communications are tested, the message says.
Around 500 jobs will be created at the enterprise.
With the launch of the plant, the annual volume of nitrogen fertilizers produced in the country will exceed two million tons. About a third of the products will be supplied to the domestic market, and the rest is designed for export. The construction of the pier is also close to completion in the city of Garabogaz.
Earlier it was reported that it will be the largest enterprise of this kind in the country. The contract is valued at approximately $ 1.3 billion.
