A cable plant of one of the leading enterprises of Azerbaijan’s Sumgayit Technological Park (STP), intends to increase the volume of its products abroad, STP PR manager Rashad Aliyev told Trend.
“STP exported cable products worth more than $6.3 million to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in 2019,” Aliyev added.
"This year, the plant intends to continue to increase the volume of supply and export cable products to many more countries,” PR manager said. “Our efforts will be mainly aimed at expanding the market share in Central Asia."
PR manager said that STP exported a big batch of high capacity power cables to Kazakhstan in 2019.
"STP has fully complied with its obligations within the signed contract,” Aliyev said. “As a big number of infrastructure projects are being carried out in Kazakhstan, the potential for expanding STP's cooperation with local private and state companies in this country is quite big.”
“Taking into account this fact, STP carefully explores this direction and envisages the establishment of closer contacts in these markets in the future," Aliyev said.
The Sumgayit Technological Park, commissioned in December 2009, is a complex of big plants specializing in various fields of production.
Being a unique project in the region, STP fully meets the demand in the domestic market and is able to export a sufficient volume of products to the foreign market.
Previously, the plant produced cables with a voltage of 10, 35, 110, 220 kV.
STP has begun to produce cables with a voltage of 500 kV since 2016 for the first time in the history of Azerbaijan’s industry.
Currently, STP residents are 12 plants and more than 30 production sites provided with the latest European and Japanese technological equipment. Some 2,000 people work there.
The plant has been provided with modern German equipment.
