Russian companies will invest in overhaul of Turkmenhimiya state concern’s Maryazot chemical plant in Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to “Zolotoy Vek” (Golden Age) newspaper.
Deputy Prime Minister Shamukhammet Durdylyev reported about the repair and modernization of production facilities with the involvement of Russian investments at the during a working meeting held by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
As reported, representatives of Russian Federation’s joint-stock companies got acquainted with the conditions of production facilities and gave a preliminary forecast of the availability to manufacture new nitrogen fertilizers.
The plant's designed production capacity is 450,000 tons of ammonium nitrate per year. The company consists of two workshops for the production of ammonia, and the repair works is required to upgrade the technological equipment.
It is planned to carry out major repairs and reconstruction of the workshops for the production of ammonia, nitric acid, ammonium nitrate and provide them with technological equipment and spare parts. In addition, the workshops are to be equipped with chemical water treatment and other auxiliary facilities.
Following the work completion, the country will no longer import ammonium nitrate. Furthermore, it will produce new types of nitrogen fertilizers.
During the meeting, the president stressed out the effectiveness of cooperation with the Russia, which takes an active part in Turkmenistan’s ongoing projects.
