Uzbekistan has begun manufacturing protective medical overalls made of cotton hydrophobic fabric with protective properties to prevent infections, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association (Uztextileprom).
The coveralls were developed and launched into production by Uzbek-American Joint Venture Cotton Road, located in Kashkadarya region.
The manufacturer has mastered HeiQ Viroblock innovative textile technology under the agreement with SNT GmbH (Germany) and CHT Switzerland AG (Switzerland). It is an antiviral and antimicrobial technology for production of active antiviral fabrics impregnated with silver ions micro-particles in combination with a special vesicular component.
"Silver ions attract oppositely charged virus particles and instantly bind them to their sulfur groups, and then the vesicular component destroys the virus," the message said.
According to Uztextileprom, the technology is actively destroying pathogenic emissions of SARS-CoV-2 within five to ten minutes.
The cotton overalls have advantages over overalls made of polymers, in particular, spunbond.
