The volume of industrial goods and services in Baku amounted to 29.7 billion manat ($17.4 million) in 2020, down 4.8 percent compared to 2019, Trend reports citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
According to the report, 74.6 percent of industrial products were produced in the extractive industry, 22.5 percent - in processing, 2.1 percent - in the production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, and 0.8 percent - in the water supply, waste treatment and recycling sector.
“The share of the private sector in the industry was 78.7 percent. The share of industrial products in the country’s total production amounted to 85.3 percent, industrial services - 14.7 percent,” said the report.
“As of January 1, 2021, a stock of finished products in the warehouses of industrial enterprises amounted to 343.9 million manat ($202.3 million). Most of the manufactured products, taking into account the reserves created in previous periods, were sent to consumers,” the report said.
Products worth 91.3 million manat ($53.7 million) purchased from other enterprises and intended for resale are also stored in the warehouses of industrial enterprises.
In 2019, the volume of industrial goods and services in Baku increased by 0.7 percent compared to 2018 and amounted to 39.7 billion manat ($23.3 million).
