In January-March, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced over 1.7 billion cubic meters of gas compared to 1.78 billion cubic meters in January-March 2011, SOCAR said on Monday.
According to the report, in March SOCAR produced 553.9 million cubic meters of gas which is almost identical to the February figure.
According to SOCAR, in the first quarter the country produced about 6.7 billion cubic meters of gas. In March the figure hit 2.13 billion cubic meters which again is almost the same as February.
Last year, Azerbaijan produced approximately 26 billion cubic meters of gas compared to more than 26 billion cubic meters in 2010. Some 7.08 billion cubic meters of gas accounted for SOCAR in 2011 compared to about 7.18 billion cubic meters in 2010.
