Westport Trading Europe Limited (WTL) has prepared a project for production of needle coke in Turkmenistan, WTL told Trend.
The project is being prepared within the framework of the program for the development of the fuel and energy sector of Turkmenistan and based on surveys of the region's raw material base.
"Research conducted by independent experts confirms that Turkmen low-sulfur coke is a perfect raw material for producing high-quality needle coke," said WTL, adding that the company has developed and patented their own technology for the innovative production of needle coke from Turkmen oil, on the basis of which a project for organizing the production of needle coke at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries has been prepared.
Needle coke is petroleum coke produced in delayed coking plants from low-sulfur flavored distillate residues from thermal cracking, catalytic cracking gas oils, oil production extracts, or heavy hydrocarbon pyrolysis resin, said the company.
"The production of needle coke for the oil refining industry is a strategic issue for a number of countries. Turkmenistan has the opportunity to take a leading position in the region in its production and prevent the dependence of the leading sectors of the economy on other countries that produce this type of raw material in the future, " the company noted.
WTL is an American Corporation founded in 1998 as a supplier of the latest American technologies, all types of engineering work and a wide range of industrial equipment for the oil refining industry.
During its activity, gaining experience and developing, WTL reorganized itself into a successful EPC Contractor (Engineering, procurement and construction), implementing turnkey projects for the oil refining industry. In recent years, WTL has completed a number of projects for the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries , building and commissioning road Bitumen and Catalytic reforming plants at Seidinsky Oil Refinery.
