BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 19. Azerbaijan exported 270,300 tons of nitrogen fertilizers from January through June 2024, compared to 113,000 tons in the same period in 2023, Trend reports via the State Customs Committee (SCC).
Revenue from nitrogen fertilizer (urea) exports from January through June 2024 amounted to $52.63 million, compared to $32 million year-on-year.
In the first half of 2024, SOCAR Carbamide produced 304,600 tons of nitrogen fertilizers, which is double the production in the same period of 2023.
This growth was driven by increased global demand for nitrogen fertilizers following a sharp reduction in fertilizer purchases from Russia by Western countries.
