Azerbaijan sees growth in major petroleum products output

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 14. The production of gasoline in Azerbaijan from January through August 2024 increased by 2.3 percent year-on-year to 973,400 tons.

The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Statistics Committee shows that 23,000 tons of motor gasoline remained in warehouses as of September 1.

The production of gasoil (diesel fuel) for eight months amounted to 1.565 million tons, which is 1.2 percent more than from January through August 2023. A total of 127,300 tons are in storage.

However, about 430,700 tons of jet fuel were produced in the country, which is 12.1 percent more than from January through August 2023. As of September 1, 35,600 tons of aviation kerosene were in warehouses in Azerbaijan.

Moreover, growth was noted for oil bitumen - 175,900 tons (up 2.6 percent) and lubricating oils - 43,900 tons (up 9.7 percent).

Meanwhile, the State Statistics Committee recorded a significant growth in the production of fuel oil—5.1 times year-on-year to 26,600 tons.

Liquefied gases decreased by 17 percent to 132,500 tons.

Also, the country's production of petroleum coke decreased by 13.9 percent to 138,400 tons.
