BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 14. The output of urea (nitrogen fertilizers) at the SOCAR Carbamide plant in Sumgayit from January through August 2024 amounted to 418,300 tons, which is 71.4 percent more than the indicator of the same period of 2023.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Statistics Committee indicate that 48,400 tons of urea were stored at SOCAR Carbamide's warehouses as of September 1.
To note, this enterprise, which has been operating in Azerbaijan for a little over five years, produced 454,000 tons of urea in 2023, of which 148,800 tons were purchased by EU countries.
Over the entire period of activity, this enterprise produced more than 2 million tons of nitrogen fertilizers (urea), of which about 85 percent was exported.
