ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 6. Kazakhstan plans to increase commercial gas production until 2023, Trend reports, with reference to forecasts of the Ministry of Energy.
Citing forecasts, Kazakhstan expects to produce 28,054 billion cubic meters of commercial gas in 2024. Thus, 27.727 billion cubic meters will come from existing resources and 327 million from projected new projects.
At the same time, in 2030, commercial gas production will be increased to 35.189 billion cubic meters. That is, compared to 2024, commercial gas production will increase by 25.4 percent.

Meanwhile, in 2023, gas production in Kazakhstan amounted to 59.063 billion cubic meters, including large fields such as Tengiz (16.009 billion cubic meters), Karachaganak (22.385 billion cubic meters), Kashagan (11.856 billion cubic meters), and others (8.813 billion cubic meters).
