ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 4. About 81.9 billion tenge (about $169.6 million) was sent abroad from Kazakhstan through international money transfer systems in July 2024, which is 12.2 percent more than in June (73 billion tenge, or $151.2 million), Trend reports.
The data from the National Bank of Kazakhstan shows that, compared to June 2024 (200,350 transactions), the number of translations increased by 0.3 percent and amounted to 201,000 transactions.
In July, the lion's share of transfers abroad were made through Zolotaya Korona, Western Union, Moneygram, and other systems.
When it comes to the amount of money sent from Kazakhstan abroad, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Türkiye take the cake.
Moreover, the main share of transfers through international systems was carried out in US dollars (share of the total number of transfers: 32.7 percent, share of the total volume of transfers: 55.9 percent) and in Kazakhstani tenge (56.2 percent and 35.3 percent, respectively).
