BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 15. Kyrgyzstan increased imports of natural gas from January through August 2022,Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to statistics, Kyrgyzstan in the first 8 months of this year imported natural gas for $43 million, which is an increase of 33.5 percent over the same period in 2021 ($32.2 million).
During the reporting period, the largest volume of natural gas supplies to Kyrgyzstan came from Russia.
Russian natural gas exports to Kyrgyzstan from January through August 2022 amounted to $39.4 million, which is an increase of 38.7 percent compared to the same period of last year ($28.4 million).
In addition, during this period, Kyrgyzstan imported natural gas from Uzbekistan worth $3.5 million, which is a decrease of 5.4 percent over the corresponding period of last year ($3.7 million).
Overall, the total volume of Kyrgyz imports from January through August 2022 amounted to $6 billion, which is 1.8 times more compared to the same period in 2021.
