BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 3. Kyrgyzstan imported 122,300 tons of mineral fertilizers from January through June 2024, Trend reports.
The country's Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry states that of these imports, 81,400 tons were nitrogen mineral fertilizers, 10,500 tons were phosphoric mineral fertilizers, and 2,000 tons were potassium mineral fertilizers.
It is noted that the annual demand for mineral fertilizers in Kyrgyzstan for 2024 amounted to 286,700 tons, including 163,500 tons of nitrogen fertilizers, 105,800 tons of phosphoric fertilizers, and 17,200 tons of potassium mineral fertilizers.
Due to the absence of fertilizer production plants in Kyrgyzstan, they are imported from neighboring countries.
To note, the gross output of agricultural products in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 73.244 billion soms ($850.394 million) from January through May 2024, according to the State Statistical Committee of the country. The physical volume index stood at 102.5 percent during this period.
