DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, May 4. The value of agricultural production in Tajikistan from January through March 2024 amounted to 3.530 billion somoni ($324.130 million), Trend reports.
According to the Statistical Agency under the President of Tajikistan, the figure is 6.7 percent higher than in the same months of 2023.
Plant production accounted for 112.4 million somoni ($10.320 million), while animal husbandry reached 3.418 billion somoni ($313.846 million).
Household farms contributed 74 percent of the total agricultural output, with even higher percentages in specific regions such as the Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region (97.9 percent), Khatlon region (81.7 percent), Sughd region (66.9 percent), and the districts under republican subordination (70.5 percent).
In 2023, the total value of agricultural output in Tajikistan reached 63 billion somoni ($5.767 billion). This is a nine percent increase from the previous year. Crop output experienced a growth of 6.8 percent, reaching 43.4 billion somoni ($3.973 billion), whereas livestock production declined by 14.1 percent, amounting to 19.7 billion somoni ($1.803 billion).
