DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, January 18. Tajikistan carried out work under 18 government investment projects aimed at improving the country's energy system in 2024, Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda announced during a meeting on the outcomes of the nation's socio-economic development last year, Trend reports.
These projects included the construction and reconstruction of power plants, reducing electricity losses, implementing a billing system, electrifying rural areas, building power transmission and distribution lines, and improving the financial health of the sector.
According to Rasulzoda, the total value of these projects amounted to $1.7 billion.
He also noted that the total number of active government investment projects in the country reached 90, with a combined volume of 51.9 billion somoni ($4.7 billion) in 2024.
Rasulzoda pointed out that in recent years, the government has implemented a number of measures to support entrepreneurship and improve the investment climate, aimed at developing domestic production through the provision of tax and customs incentives.
