DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 8. A total of 1,735 tons of fuel oil (mazut) were produced in Tajikistan from January through June 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistical Agency shows that the figure declined by 37 percent compared to 2,756 tons over the same period in 2024.
The sharp drop in fuel oil output contributed to the overall 33.6 percent decrease in oil product production. This occurred despite a 5 percent year-on-year increase in the country’s manufacturing sector, which reached 13.91 billion somoni (around $1.4 billion) in the first half of 2025.
On the other hand, food processing industries performed well, with an 8 percent increase, led by growth in the production of vodka and liqueurs (up 26.5 percent), pasta (up 17.7 percent), confectionery (up 41.8 percent), and poultry meat (up 19.8 percent).
Simultaneously, the textile and apparel sector contracted by 3.5
percent. Fabric production decreased by 19.1 percent, hosiery by
77.1 percent, and cotton fiber by 52.7 percent.
The production of construction materials increased by 6.2 percent,
bolstered by significant growth in cement (up 18 percent), concrete
(up 37.8 percent), and brick manufacturing (up 49.9 percent).
