BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 13. Uzbekistan may use Malaysian experience in improving its local airport services,Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Transport.
This was discussed during a meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan Airports JSC with a delegation of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB).
During the talks, the parties discussed issues of establishing cooperation in the development of the airport services in Uzbekistan, in particular, the introduction of advanced Malaysian experience in this direction in the country.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airports Javlon Umarkhojaev made a presentation on the development strategy of the country's airports and the mechanism for attracting a private partner in the process of modernization and management of the Bukhara International Airport on the basis of Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
Umarkhojaev informed in detail about the work carried out in Uzbekistan to accelerate the transformation processes in this area to ensure the competitiveness of civil aviation enterprises in the global air transportation market, as well as to create optimal conditions for the population in terms of the quality and price of services provided by diversifying aviation services.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit of a Malaysian company to Uzbekistan and holding additional negotiations to introduce the existing infrastructure of airports proposed for modernization and management in accordance with the principles of PPP.
