TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 21. Iran
proposed implementing projects for the production of TEP (granules
and adhesives) in small industrial zones of the leather industry in
Uzbekistan, Trend
reports.
The news follows a meeting between Chairman of Uzcharmsanoat
(Uzbekistan's leather, footwear, and fur industry association)
Akbar Sultanov and a delegation led by the Trade Counselor of the
Embassy of Iran in Uzbekistan Rakhmatullo Khurmoli.
During the meeting, the development of trade and economic
relations between Uzbekistan and Iran in the leather industry, the
implementation of joint investment projects, and export-import
matters were discussed. Currently, necessary raw materials and
components for the leather industry are supplied from Iran. Leather
manufacturers in Uzbekistan are actively enhancing cooperation with
companies from this country.
Wool processing projects were also evaluated as promising. The
next stages of implementing these projects were discussed in detail
during the meeting.
Furthermore, a delegation of Iranian companies will participate
in the UzCharmExpo-EurAsia-2025 international exhibition, which
will be held in April in Tashkent. For reference, the Iranian side
increased the quota for Uzbek companies to 120 for participation in
the Iran Expo-2025 international exhibition.
