Iran's import of products from Uzbekistan declines

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. Iran's imports of products from Uzbekistan decreased by 4.2 percent in value and 46 percent in weight terms during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023).

The data obtained by Trend from the country's Customs Administration shows that for six months Iran's imports of products from Uzbekistan amounted to 16,900 tons worth $40.6 million.

However, the statistics note that during six months of last year, imports of Iran's product imports from Uzbekistan amounted to 31,500 tons worth $42.4 million.

The data indicates that Iran engaged in the importation of cotton, beans, silk, ammonium nitrate, and other goods from Uzbekistan over a six-month period.

Iran imported non-oil products worth $32.6 billion during the mentioned period.

To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing products that are necessary for the country and imposes certain restrictions on imports of products manufactured in the country.
