BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. Iran's imports from Azerbaijan dropped by 18.3 percent in value, and 46.7 percent in weight in the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2025), compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from Iran's Customs Administration indicates that Iran imported goods worth $1.73 million during this period, totaling around 539 tons. In comparison, the same period in the previous year saw imports worth $2.12 million, equating to about 1,010 tons.
The data also indicate that the main items imported by Iran from Azerbaijan were various equipment, compressed soybeans, and different types of profiles, among other products.
The overall trade turnover between Iran and Azerbaijan for the first two months was valued at $87.6 million, with a total weight of about 138,000 tons. This represents a decline of 21.7 percent in value and 5 percent in weight when compared to the previous year.
