BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 22.​ Iran's Zarshouran Gold Mines and Mining Industries Development Company has reported a one percent increase in gold production in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Mohammad Parvin, the Executive Director of the company, told reporters, Trend reports.

Parvin stated that during the past Iranian year, the company produced over 1,040 kg of gold bars, up from 1,030 kg in the previous year (March 2023 to March 2024). Despite energy shortages, the company managed to achieve this level of gold production.

"The company aims to increase gold production and achieve new milestones in the current year," he added.

To note, the Zarshouran gold mine is located 35 kilometers from the Tekab County of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province. The Zarshouran Gold Mines and Mining Industries Development Company can produce 3 tons of gold bars a year. The gold reserves in the Zanjuran Gold Complex amount to 43 million tons, and with the current equipment, this volume could be mined over the course of 65 years.
